Blue Ewe Yoga Studio PDF Print E-mail

When dream became reality and we found ourselves the proud owners of the Green Goat Gallery, it seemed silly to stay the course and call the yoga studio the "Salisbury Yoga Studio"--especially since it was now to be located down the street in neighboring Spencer, N.C. We loved the alliterative Green Goat Gallery name we inherited, so we decided to expand on it. After rejecting the Yellow Ewe, which seemed a little sea-sickly, we decided on the Blue Ewe.Thanks in large part to Cara Reische's delicate lotus lamb logo, folks have grown to accept a studio that neither draws upon its sacred Sanskrit heritage nor conjures up a peaceful, balanced body and mind. But what a peaceful place to practice yoga a turn-of-the-century former company store turned out to be! A pressed tin ceiling and soft pink brick walls to draw your focus, golden oak wood floors to stablilize your balance, and a light airy space to maximize your breathing.

I earned my yoga teacher certification at the Asheville Yoga Center, under the guidance of the inimitable Stephanie Keach. One weekend a month for nine months, she, Shala Worsley, and many excellent guest teachers introduced me to to the joys of a variety of styles of hatha yoga--Anusara, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini, among others. The yoga taught at the Blue Ewe is a gentle vinyasa flow-style that strives to incoroprate elements of each--the precision of Iyengar, the joyful grace of Anusara, the conditioning of Ashtanga, and the mystery of Kundalini. I want people to leave here relaxed, a little tired, and breathing easier. Class descriptions and times follow. Please call 704-639-0606 should you have any questions. Namaste, Anne
